The monument, created by Pascal Convert and unveiled in 2003, pays tribute to those executed by firing squad at Mont-Valérien. Engraved on it are the names of the 1,008 people executed by firing squad, listed in chronological order of execution.

Soldiers on the Mediterranean, a newspaper published by the German Labor Movement for German soldiers in France, carries the headline: “Don’t Wait to Take Action” (Nov. 1943).

A 1941 Communist leaflet subverting the Pétainist symbol of the francisque following the execution of Communist activists sentenced to be beheaded by a French court.

A group of 27 political prisoners at the Châteaubriant camp. They were shot as hostages on October 22, 1941. Among them was Guy Moquet, a 17-year-old communist (standing, fifth from the right).

A leaflet aimed at German soldiers and officers, published by the UJRE in late 1944, detailing the Wehrmacht’s retreats and concluding with “Down with Hitler!”
