Soldiers on the Mediterranean, a newspaper published by the German Labor Movement for German soldiers in France, carries the headline: “Don’t Wait to Take Action” (Nov. 1943).

A 1941 Communist leaflet subverting the Pétainist symbol of the francisque following the execution of Communist activists sentenced to be beheaded by a French court.

A group of 27 political prisoners at the Châteaubriant camp. They were shot as hostages on October 22, 1941. Among them was Guy Moquet, a 17-year-old communist (standing, fifth from the right).

A leaflet dated October 25, 1941, dropped over France between October 30, 1941, and November 4, 1941. In it, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, President of the United States, condemns the executions of hostages in Châteaubriant.
