Judaism

Judaism is a very ancient monotheistic religion that is still practiced today. It originated in ancient times in the Middle East. The values of this religion and the history of the Jews are the roots of the other two major monotheistic religions, Christianity and Islam. The founding text of Judaism is the Torah.

One might, however, prefer the term “Jewishness,” which defines a Jewish identity without reference to religion.

————————

In a broader, secular sense, Judaism encompasses the culture and way of life of the Jews.
