After earning a degree<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">in electronic engineering, he was once again drawn to journalism.<\/span> <\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;As a member of the Jewish section of the M.O.I., he became one of the most influential editors of the progressive Yiddish-language newspaper <em>*Na\u00efe Presse*<\/em>, founded in 1934. His occupation included serving as editorial secretary, reporter, critic, and columnist, writing under various bylines. <\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;In 1934, Nadler published a prophetic poem in Yiddish; here is an excerpt:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">&#8220;Let them put up a hundred seals&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Let them put locks on the doors<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">And confiscate a thousand times as much.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">As long as there is blood in our veins<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">And paper,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Your Voice, My Revolutionary Press<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Will Not Be Silenced<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">We&#8217;ll print, we&#8217;ll print, without stopping<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">On printing presses, on typewriters, on stones<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">To be lithographed and mimeographed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">In storage rooms, basements, and attics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">In the forests, in the barns, and on the <\/span><span style=\"color: #999999;\">wastelands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999;\">&#8220;And tomorrow our newspaper will be published again.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;In September 1940, he was one of the co-founders of \u201cSolidarit\u00e9,\u201d an underground mutual-aid organization that later became a Resistance group. He worked to organize Jewish immigrant intellectuals and continued his journalistic activities as editor-in-chief of <em>*Unzer Wort*<\/em>, the underground edition of <em>*Na\u00efe Presse<\/em> *; he also wrote for the French-language editions <em>*Notre Voix* and <\/em><em> *Notre Parole<\/em>*. <\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;He was responsible for the first issue of the newsletter <em>*J\u2019accuse*, dated <\/em>April 1942, which brought to the attention of the general public the crimes of which Jews were the victims.<\/p><p><br><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;In May 1942, two members of the Communist Party\u2019s Organisation Sp\u00e9ciale (the OS) were killed during an accidental mishandling of explosives. The Gestapo, having been alerted, intensified its hunt for Resistance fighters, Jews<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">,<\/span> and<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">communists, as well as its attacks on the underground Jewish press.<\/span> <\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><br><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Nadler was arrested, imprisoned at La Sant\u00e9, and then sent to the Compi\u00e8gne camp.
