 *T\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien*<\/em> is a publication founded in Lyon in 1941. The main driving force behind *Les Cahiers du t\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien*<\/em> is the Jesuit Pierre Chaillet, founder of *L\u2019Amiti\u00e9 chr\u00e9tienne*. Father de Lubac actively contributed to the journal. Pierre Chaillet was concerned about the rise of Nazism. <\/p>


<\/p>\n

   Following France\u2019s defeat, it was during a meeting with, among others, Henri Frenay\u2014a practicing Catholic and leader of the Resistance network *Combat*\u2014<\/em> that the idea for an underground Christian publication was conceived. It was led by Catholics, who were soon joined by Protestants. <\/p>


<\/p>\n

   The first issues of *Cahiers du T\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien*<\/em> were published in Lyon on November 16, 1941.<\/p>\n

The subtitle, which is openly anti-Nazi\u2014 \u201cFrance, Beware of Losing Your Soul\u201d\u2014 <\/em>speaks for itself. 14 of the 53 issues are <\/em> devoted to denouncing Nazism.<\/p>\n

Here are a few examples of the titles of these files:<\/p>\n

– Our Struggle<\/em>: December 1941<\/p>\n

– Anti-Semites<\/em>: April\u2013May 1942<\/p>\n

– *Les voiles se d\u00e9chirent*<\/em>: a notebook seized and destroyed by the police but which was ultimately published in August 1943<\/p>\n

– Where Are We Going?<\/em> A Message from Georges Bernanos, August\u2013September 1943.<\/p>\n

   <\/p>

   The leaders of *T\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien* joined forces with the OSE, the MNCR, and the Jewish section of the M.O.I. to rescue Jewish children. Thirteen issues of the publication appeared between 1941 and 1944. <\/p>


<\/p>\n

   Thanks to the efforts of the leaders of T\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien<\/em>, Jews were hidden and saved.<\/p>\n

In the postwar period, Georges Montaron continued the progressive struggle of *T\u00e9moignage chr\u00e9tien*.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
